Does my video get stored in the cloud?
No. The cloud portal is a relay — it forwards your commands to your NVR server and streams results back. Your video stays on your hardware at all times. Nothing is uploaded, copied, or cached in the cloud.
Do I need to open ports or set up port forwarding?
No. Your NVR server connects outbound to the cloud portal using SignalR (WebSocket over HTTPS). No open ports, no firewall rules, no dynamic DNS. Works behind any NAT or corporate firewall.
Can I download recordings remotely?
Yes. You can browse, play back, and download clips from any connected NVR server through the cloud portal or the desktop/mobile app. The recording streams through the relay — it's never stored in the cloud.
What happens if the cloud goes down?
Your NVR servers keep recording, detecting, and alerting independently. You lose remote access until the cloud is back up, but nothing is lost locally. The NVR is always the source of truth.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Your NVR keeps working — local recording, AI detection, everything. You only lose cloud relay access and push notifications. Nothing is deleted or locked out.
How fast is the relay?
The relay adds minimal latency — typically under 100ms for API commands. Live view uses snapshot polling or HLS streaming through the relay. Performance depends on your upload speed at the NVR site and your internet connection.
